Abstract

Eye injury is a potential complication of any surgical case involving prone positioning. Although the vast majority of perioperative ocular complications are relatively minor, such as scleral edema, some complications may be devastating. Here we present a rare case in which eye injury (palpebral ecchymosis) was unrelated to anesthetic factors, but to the patient’s systemic disease, amyloidosis.
